Game Boy Advance Tutorials

The Game Boy Advance (GBA) is a 32-bit handheld game console developed, manufactured, and marketed by Nintendo as the successor to the Game Boy Color. Just like it’s predecessor, people are still making games for GBA. My tutorials will utilize the c++ and the Butano game engine.

In around February of 2021 I created “Larold’s Jubilant Junkyard” and started learning how to make a Gameboy game. Now, as “The Junkyard” becomes “Larold’s Retro Gameyard”. We’ll start taking things even further beyond. I took a quick survey on my YouTube channel about the next steps. Game Boy Advance was the winner, and a logical choice. These Tutorials will utilize C++, and will NOT build-upon the previous tutorials for Game Boy.

Beginner Tutorials

The first tutorials will be about the basics. Each tutorial will serve to teach you the building blocks for making games for GBA with Butano.

Once you have a good understanding of the basics, now you can move onto more advanced topics.
